Millions of Wix merchants can now accept 12 different cryptos

Bitpay, a cryptocurrency payments business located in Atlanta, said on Tuesday that Wix, an Israeli software startup, has enabled its Software as a Service (SaaS) e-commerce platform to take crypto-asset payments. Wix businesses will be able to accept 12 different cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, dogecoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, litecoin, and stablecoins, thanks to the integration.

SaaS Platform Wix Implements Bitpay Infrastructure So Merchants Can Accept Crypto

Wix, a worldwide SaaS platform founded in 2006 by Israeli software developers Nadav Abrahami, Avishai Abrahami, and Giora Kaplan, allows customers to create mobile and HTML5 websites without coding knowledge. Wix stated on October 12 that it will be adopting Bitpay’s bitcoin payment processing infrastructure so that customers of the Wix e-commerce platform may pick it as a payment option.

Wix Merchant users may take bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (BCH), dogecoin (DOGE), ethereum (ETH), litecoin (LTC), wrapped bitcoin (WBTC), and XRP in addition to five other stablecoins such as BUSD, DAI, GUSD, USDP, and USDC (in specific jurisdictions).

Wix’s product offerings, such as the website builder, company management services, and web hosting, generate around $1 billion in sales, according to metrics.

“With over 210 million users, Wix is one of the largest and most extensively used online creation platforms, so this is another step forward in bringing bitcoin into the mainstream,” said Stephen Pair, Bitpay’s CEO, in a statement. “By connecting into the vast trillion-dollar cryptocurrency economy, businesses can go to market rapidly and grab incremental revenues,” Pair added.
